25 August -3 September – Long, long weekend

So this was a much longer visit overall, a long bank holiday weekend, stretched into two weekends, and the week in between. There was a changing workforce, from just me for a couple of days, with up to 5 some days. It was generally good weather so once Christine had gone, more work got done outside than in.

Inside at the end of the week. Walls and ceilings in most rooms complete, and skirting boards started. Curtains replaced in nearly all rooms. Stairs sturdy and none squeaking. New bathroom door

Outside:

The storage area at the end of the workshop was emptied,  cleaned and tidied

I forgot to take ‘after’ pictures… again.

A ‘welcome to your new home’ present from Dad – Thank you Dad! Once he’d assembled and tested the beast it was put to good use clearing paths and ‘no go’ areas. Many nettles gone, but still plenty for the wildlife.

Fruit picking:

First load of logs arrived and were stacked – supposedly we need 4 times this amount to last the winter…

This post is becoming far too long, so here are a few other random pictures

And finally, our new neighbours let us have a copy of the of the house as it was first built. 2-up, 2-down, times 2.  Ours is the left hand side.
