This month starts with the usual British moan about the weather. I’d hoped that after the frosts and drought in April that this month would be better, but although we finally got some rain, we also had snow and hail. The picture below was from the third week in May, and temperatures stayed well below average.
Because of the unseasonably dry weather in April I had a backlog of plants absolutely everywhere, but did finally start planting the beds that we’d cleared in March. I was also fortunate in that many people raided their own gardens and sent me care packages of plants – Thanks All! So by the end of the month things were beginining to look slightly better.
Not a lot happening outside this month, seeds in but not yet through, and tender plants being sheltered in the polytunnel.
Despite the moaning, the garden was starting to get igoing, and of course the apple blossom was glorious again. You are fortunate to only see a small number of the hundreds of pictures that I took daily.
And finally…. more visitors , and a shot of me testing my marvelous new ladders.
