2020 – August

Hello and welcome to the first post at the new home for the blog. The format hasn’t changed, it’s still a monthly post of general progress, and lots of pictures. One experimental change is how the pictures are shown. The previous method I used is not available with this new host. So for now only small images are shown, but each set can be paged through by selecting any image

When the weather was good, it was very good 🙂 and we made the most of it, especially when we had visitors.

We did occasionally do some work. The pond went for another trip up the garden. The back of the barn was replaced as was the cover on one of the polytunnel doors. The goat shelter was cleared and partly demolished while we were having a bonfire.

As well as the good weather seen in the beach photos we also had a couple of really heavy wind storms. Unfortunately we did have some damage, mostly just tree branches, but a fence had to be anchored down, and one of the windows in my potting shed was shattered, something must have been blown into it.

Plenty to harvest in the veg garden, and the early apples are starting to ripe up nicely

The garden is still looking good as long as you ignore the weeds and the wind damage

The Dahlias in particular have been excellent this year

Chester continues to enjoy life
