So, I had a quick look back at last April’s post before starting this one. And to be honest, despite the change to the world brought about by Coronavirus, most of the month is pretty much the same, (which is reassuring, if repetitive). So there were no family gatherings for Easter, or trips out, but instead lots and lots of garden work.
So as there is quite a bit of repetition I thought I’d change the format of the post a bit – fewer words in general, but more specific photo labels instead. Let me know what you think.

Can you tell what it is yet?
It’s a potting bench…
… a smart potting bench
And a repaired, reinforced and repainted bench

The compost bins by the poytunnel were a bit drunk. They needed to be repaired or removed
I decided I’d rather have a new bed in that position. It will be used for pumpkins this year

The area cleared and rotovated at the end of March
Marking out drills for hardy annuals
All sown, rows marked with grit so I don’t weed the seedlings
Day 1 after sowing – the first mole tunnel disturbiing my OCD rows
Day 2 after sowing – mice have discovered the sunflower seeds – only husks remain.

Hardy perennial bed starting to colour up
When I grow up I want to be a bluebell wood
The mighty hunter with his kill – sticks for bean poles.
First bed going in to the back garden on the last day of April – small because the ground is baked dry
The warm weather has brought out the butterflies, this peacock butterfly decided to be my friend
Penny, the vintage ride on lawnmower gets an airing

Washing down the polytunnel. Can you see which bits I’ve already done?

And another break…
