15th – 17th September

Inside, we were very pleased to get the pew brought down safely and without too much drama. It’s the heaviest piece of furniture we own, being solid oak, and the bulkiest, as there is no way to disassemble it unlike all our flat pack stuff. Still, we got it in, and safely put against a wall. It may not stay there once we bring down more furniture, but it fits nicely for now. We have also advanced from the plastic patio chairs, to the small sofa from the conservatory. Luxury indeed. I also got the curtains and lampshade for the bedroom fitted, although you can’t see on the picture, they are an excellent match for the walls.

Comic picture of me demonstrating that my birthday present weather station has been fitted, and I will be able geek out over the masses of data it will produce. Coming soon: watch this space for endless graphs of maximum and minimum temperature, humidity, wind speed etc. (You have been warned!)IMG_20180916_181450

Also, I forgot to highlight  in last weeks entry that the hot tub has had a makeover. You can see it’s smart new colour scheme in the background.

In other news: The rusty corrugated lean-to against the barn has gone. Eventually we will re-clad all of the barn, but even with just two panels up, which is all we had time for, it looks better.

And in the garden, the pumpkins are doing well, and general tidying up is in progress. The first plants brought down have been stuck into the veg beds to await new homes.

And Helen, I’ll need another compost heap building please.
