All quiet here this month, with a second lockdown in place we had no visitors again. We did take ourselves out for breezy walks along the seafront.
It began to look very autumnal, lots of misty mornings and plenty of fungi appearing
Time to start putting the garden in order for Winter. Fuchsias and other tender plants were lifted and stored in the polytunnel. This is a bit risky as it is not heated, but enough survive to make it worthwhile. Swallow Greenhouses came to repair the pottingshed window. I’m glad I decided to get them to do it as it involved removing half of the front of the shed. And the hedge in the front garden finally got its top trimmed, although I’d done the sides I let Andy balance on a ladder to do the top ๐
And final harvests. The last chilli plants were lifted and a few more apples brought in to store. Some of the year’s bounty preserved as jams, chutnesys and pickles were made into goody bags for Christmas
The weather turned cold, with the first frosts at the end of the month, which soon put paid to the nasturtiums attempts at world domination
And finally a reminder of what life is like now – keep your masks handy by the door!
